How to Use HeelSphere™: Step-by-Step Application
HeelSphere™ is simple to apply and ensures consistent heel elevation when used correctly. Follow these
step-by-step instructions to maximize effectiveness:
Prepare the Device
- Open HeelSphere™ by gently widening the gap to create enough space for the ankle.
- Ensure the patient’s leg is clean and free of pre-existing skin conditions at the application site.
Position the Device Correctly
- Insert the lower ankle into the center opening of the device.
- The gap opening should be facing upward, positioned just above the ankle.
- distal edge of the device should be 3 cm above the tip of the medial malleolus
Adjust for Comfort & Fit
- Use the two-finger test to check that the device is neither too tight nor too loose.
- Ensure that the heel is fully offloaded, with no contact between the heel and the bed.
